Because of the worldwide attention and investment in the development of sensors, the development of very fast. At present, more than 6,500 companies are engaged in research and production. The United States, Europe and Russia each engage in sensor research and production of more than 1000, Japan has more than 800.

Global sensor manufacturing market status

In recent years, the global sensor market has maintained rapid growth. As the economic environment continues to improve, the market demand for sensors will continue to increase. By 2017, the market size of the global sensor industry will increase to $195.5 billion, with a year-on-year growth of 12.29%. It is estimated that the market size of the global sensor industry will exceed $200 billion in 2019, reaching about $205.9 billion, with a year-on-year growth of 5.3%.

Global sensor manufacturing market competition

Major manufacturers

The major players in the global sensor market are GE sensors, Emerson, Siemens, Bosch, stmicroelectronics, honeywell, ABB, yokogawa, omron, schneider electric, E+H, etc. Stmicroelectronics is the market leader in the global consumer inertial sensors (accelerometers + gyroscopes) market, with around 40% of the market. Bosch is the world's largest manufacturer of MEMS sensors.

In terms of product structure, CMOS image sensors (CIS) will account for 27% of the global sensor market in 2019, MEMS sensors for 25%, and voltage fingerprint recognition sensors for 8% in a single material sensor. In addition, radio frequency sensors and radar sensors have long-range detection and information transmission applications in communications, automobiles and the military, accounting for 15% and 11% respectively.

The rise of the Internet of things, cloud computing, big data and artificial intelligence applications has pushed the sensor technology from a single breakthrough to a systematic and systematic collaborative innovation, and has become a strategic high ground for developed countries and multinational enterprises. Although China has made great progress in sensor manufacturing, it still lags behind developed countries. In terms of the global market, the United States, Japan and Germany account for nearly 70 percent of the global sensor market, while China only accounts for about 10 percent.

Global sensor manufacturing industry development prospects analysis

It is foreseeable that the Internet of things will have more and more application demands in various industries and become the most eye-catching long-term trend in the next 10 or 20 years. According to the estimation of authoritative institutions, the global Internet of things is expected to affect the downstream market in 2020 will exceed 3 trillion us dollars, more than 25 billion systems/devices will be connected, and the total number of Internet users will reach 4.4 billion. McKinsey also expects the market for downstream applications that the global Internet of things is expected to penetrate to grow to $3.9 trillion to $11.1 trillion by 2025, accounting for about 11 percent of the global economy.

Therefore, as the global Internet of things enters a phase of substantial development, the sensor manufacturing industry will benefit from the outbreak of the Internet of things. In particular, the potential market for automotive sensors is 5.7 billion, more than 14 times larger than today. The potential size of the logistics sensor market is more than 10 billion, more than 10 times the current size. The potential market size of coal mine security sensor reaches tens of billions of yuan; The scale of the security sensor market will increase in step with the value of the security industry. It is forecasted that the global sensor market will maintain a growth rate of about 8% in the next five years and reach $328.4 billion by 2024.
